  • Betty Herr, M.D., Ph.D., is a graduate of Smith College, Yale University (Ph.D. in Pharmacology), and Mt. Sinai School of Medicine (M.D., 1976).  She did her residency in Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital.  She is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, and on the medical staff of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. She emphasizes the integration of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology in her practice.  Dr. Herr enjoys practicing general psychiatry, treating adult men and women, including seniors.  Her areas of expertise include treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, as well as combined medical and psychiatric problems.  She also sees many women for problems associated with pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), pregnancy and menopause.  Her new office is in Waltham, at 318 Bear Hill Road, Suite 7B., Waltham, MA  

  

  • Anton Pesok, M.D.,  graduated from the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program, and held the Adams House Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Fellowship. He is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School where he teaches and supervises medical students and resident physicians at Beth Israel Hospital. He completed his residency in 2002, and is a Board Certified psychiatrist. Dr. Pesok treats a wide range of patients techniques varying from brief psychotherapy in stressful life situations, to extended psychodynamic psychotherapy for interpersonal difficulties, to medication treatment for variety of anxiety and depressive disorders. He works with couples, as well as individuals. His new office is in Brookline, at 1101 Beacon St., Fifth Floor West, Brookline, MA

  

  • Frederick L. Gates, Ph.D., is a graduate of Harvard College and received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University (1981).  He has over 20 years experience as a clinical psychologist in private practice and as a senior clinician in an urban community health center, where he directed a family therapy program.  In his private practice now, he works to help men and women heal from the wounds of abuse and sexual trauma.  He particularly enjoys working with couples and men new to therapy and uncomfortable with their emotional lives.  He is also interested in the treatment of anxiety.  Through individual therapy and a ten week focused group, he helps sufferers of anxiety and panic learn both the cognitive and behavioral techniques to break the mental and physical cycles that drive the experience of panic.  His new office is in Lexington, at 363 Massachusetts Avenue, Suite 206, Lexington, MA

  

  • Nancy Nagel, LICSW, is a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, CT, and Boston University School of Social Work (MSW, 1974).  She has a general practice working with adults who have mood or anxiety disorders, relationship concerns, and those experiencing life stresses and transitions.  She is also experienced in working with couples.  Ms. Nagel has a particular interest in women’s issues, including pregnancy and pregnancy loss, post-partum depression, and menopause.  Her new office is in Brookline, at 344 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA
